A zone is only useful if it answers a practical question: may this activity happen here, and under what condition?
| Zone | Function | Permitted | Not permitted |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core protection | Keep the mangrove functionally intact | Monitoring, research with permission, controlled rehabilitation | Visitor routes, clearing, extraction, any construction |
| Limited use | Low-intensity use with conditions | Guided interpretation on a defined path, with a group size limit | Free access, motorised traffic, commercial collection |
| Tourism activity | Visitor activity and its facilities | Boardwalk, jetty, boat lane, staging area, stalls | Expansion beyond the approved footprint |
| Support area | Facilities serving the activity | Parking, toilets, meeting point, equipment store | Anything that discharges into the mangrove waterway |
Zone boundaries pending verification
The function table above is the working framework used in the session. The boundaries for each zone are drawn on the village maps and remain Draft Indikatif until verified with the competent agency.
